Although a Scotsman can wear any shirt he likes with his kilt, if he is in evening dress, or if he is competing in a Highland Dance competition, then he will need a proper dress shirt to wear.

This fitted dress shirt has a wing style collar, forward shoulder seams, and straight sleeves with a bound placket. There are a choice of two shirt front styles, plain or with tucks either side of the button band.

The shirt also works for other occasions too – it is also nice made up in other fabrics than white lawn, such as embroidered fabrics, tiny polka dots, microcheck, gingham, or striped shirting.

The shirt features five buttons down the front, and buttons on each of the cuffs.

The bow tie is made from double sided satin ribbon and fastens at the back with a snap or some hook and loop tape.

It's not just for boys. It's perfect for girls too, worn with a tie or with a scarf, even open-necked. I’m certain that your boy or girl doll will find that they need a dress shirt in their closet – maybe more than one!

Recommended Fabrics: This pattern is designed for lightweight woven shirting fabrics such as cotton or polycotton lawn, percale, chambray etc.

Supplies Needed:
- A quarter of a yard or fat quarter (18” x 22”) of lightweight cotton or cotton blend shirting fabric.
- 9” x 3” lightweight fusible interfacing
- 6.5” Hook and loop tape (both sides) plus 3 snaps OR 7 small (1/4” / 6mm) snaps
- Half a yard of 1/4" (6mm) or 3/8” (9mm) wide ribbon for the bow tie
- Optional: 7 x 1/4" (6mm) buttons
